Information we collect

• Donations: your name, email address, donation amount, designation and any tribute you add. Card and bank details are collected directly by Stripe, not by OEBB.
• Forms: the details you enter when you ask about sponsorship, start a fundraiser, volunteer, contact us, apply for a scholarship or refer a student. This can include names, contact details, school and location, and any documents you upload.
• Email: messages you send us.
• Basic technical data: like most websites, our hosting provider records standard server logs, such as IP address and browser type, for security and reliability.

How we use it

• To process donations and send receipts.
• To respond to your questions and requests.
• To review and administer scholarships and student support.
• To coordinate volunteers and events.
• To send occasional updates about our work, only if you have given or asked to hear from us. You can opt out at any time.

We never sell your information

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the site and our programs, and only as needed: Stripe for payments, Vercel for website hosting, Resend for email notifications and Google Workspace for email. Each is bound by its own privacy and security obligations. We may also disclose information when required by law.

Children and students

Scholarship applications and student referrals may include information about children. This information must be submitted by a parent, guardian or teacher with the guardian's consent. We use it only to administer scholarships and support. We do not publish a student's name, photo or story without the family's permission.

Cookies

Our website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. The only cookie we set is a sign-in cookie for OEBB administrators. When you donate, Stripe's secure checkout page may use its own cookies to prevent fraud.

Security and retention

Our site is served over an encrypted connection, and access to submitted information is limited to the OEBB volunteers who need it. We keep information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, or as required for tax and accounting records.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or stop receiving updates, by emailing info@openeyesbb.org. We will respond within 30 days.
