Vision is where we start: free eye exams, screenings and glasses for underserved neighbors across Central Texas, wrapped in wellness outreach powered by volunteer optometrists.
Free eye exams and glasses
Volunteer optometrists provide exams and prescription glasses at no cost.
Vision screenings
Early detection of eye disease for children and seniors.

Vision care mission trips, student scholarships and school support, predominantly across Asia and wherever the need takes us. Missions so far: Vietnam, Laos and the Philippines.
Vision care mission trips
Annual missions to underserved communities, predominantly in Asia. Laos 2024: vision checkups for 1,100 students, 200 adults and 500 seniors, with about 1,570 pairs of glasses distributed. Philippines and Vietnam missions completed in 2026.
Student scholarships
Annual scholarships paid directly to schools, supporting students through high school graduation.
School support
School supplies, books and bikes for students in impoverished areas.

Relief and Recovery
Relief and Recovery
When crisis strikes, we respond the way we know best: replacing lost glasses, restoring sight and bringing wellness support to families rebuilding after storms, floods and emergencies.
Where OEBB began: Hurricane Harvey, 2017
Our founding response: 153 pairs of prescription glasses dispensed for Port Arthur residents.
